It effortlessly outshined competitors, with the Hyundai Ioniq 6 taking the second place and the Volvo EX30 grabbing the third spot in a fierce battle of electric vehicle supremacy.

The UK Car of the Year Awards, now in its tenth iteration, saw a panel of 30 renowned motoring journalists from across the nation deliberate over the winners in various categories. This year’s shortlist showcased seven vehicles, each heralded as the best in its class, with electric vehicles dominating the scene. Notably, no single manufacturer claimed more than one award, emphasizing the diversity and quality of competition.

The 2024 shortlist highlighted the industry’s evolving landscape, with electric vehicles claiming five out of the seven top spots. Among the winners were the Renault Clio for Small Car, Hyundai Ioniq 6 for Family Car, Volvo EX30 for Small Crossover, Fisker Ocean for Medium Crossover, Kia EV9 for Large Crossover, BMW i5 for Executive Car, and the Honda Civic Type R for Performance Car.
